Dubbele waterhoos bij Grand Island, Louisiana
Het Amerikaanse weerinstituut heeft bekend gemaakt dat twee waterhozen zichtbaar waren bij Grand Isle voor de kust van Louisiana (USA). Één van beide waterhozen trok daarbij over het eiland heen en werd daarmee een tornado en zorgde voor schade op land waarna hij aan de andere kant van het eiland weer in het water van de Golf van Mexico terecht kwam en daar vervolgens oploste.

Het pad van de tornado op land was zo'n 400 meter lang en 13 meter breed en kwamen er berichten van schade uit de omgeving van Boudreaux Lane op het eiland. Het televisiestation WWL-TV uit New Orleans kreeg meldingen vanaf het eiland van omgewaaide lantaarnpalen en bomen en dat straten vol lagen met weggewaaide stukken puin, dakpannen, hout en ander afval.
Vlak na drie uur smiddags kwamen de eerste meldingen binnen van de waterhoos ten westen van Grand Isle.
